Subinternship:

A general medicine subinternship at one of the core hospitals.

Intensive Care:

Coronary Care Unit or Critical Care Medicine

Electives:

Schedule only 1-2 electives in psychiatry at  most, choosing electives different from one’s clerkship experience and more to firm up the decision to pursue psychiatry as a career.
Choose electives in order to broaden one’s general medical knowledge and experience, such as Outpatient Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, or Family Medicine.  Other useful electives are Neurology’s Special Elective or Clinical Clerkship, Neuroradiology and/or Endocrinology, or
Pediatrics’ Applying the Medical Humanities to Clinical Medicine.
